Let‘s do that 36-mile route I wanted to do a couple of weeks ago, but decided against because of snow on the roads. Franklin out to Hillsborough, then down by Skillman, then to Montgomery and back; stop at Thomas Sweet in Montgomery. A few annoying hills, but nothing real demanding, and places for a few sprints if you‘re interested (but I expect the pace will be in the low-B range).

This is an adventure ride, with stops for scenery, etc. The ride can be challenging the first few times, but the long glides down, and the very empty country roads make it well worth it. We often wrap up late, and follow up with a meal.

Ride starts on RT 29 by Golden Nugget in Titusville, heads up the tow path to Bulls Bridge, then up into the hills in Stockton on one or both sides of the river. Expect 30-40 miles. Lights required, best done on a hybrid to handle multiple surface conditions.

This ride continues year-round primarily on Thursday‘s at 5PM, with a rain day of Tuesday. Rain or severe mud on the towpath cancels. Call or Text Malcolm if you would like to be added to the message group at (516)650-0477.

We‘ll leave from Blackwells Mils at 10 (possibility of rain earlier; I‘m hoping it will be clearer by then), and do about 45-50 miles to The Pig in Pennington for coffee. I had a complaint about the route, so I‘m going to try something else in Princeton; we‘ll see if we like that better. Description and link to more-or-less route on my blog (see the link in the description).
