So we did this about a month ago, and it was a hit. I'm doin' it again, the day before the Labor Day All-Paces.
Bring your oddball bike; your pretty bike; your favorite bike; the one you
should ride but never do; whatever. (If you've seen the Yellow Maserati, with the bar-end shifters and the sometimes flat pedals, you'll know I love the pretty and weird in the bike-y world.)
Or the jersey you wish someone would ask about. Or those nifty dumb socks. Or whatever.
No pace; nobody dropped. People will ride ahead; let 'em. We'll have someone to keep an eye on the folks in the back (the "someone" will likely be me).
The usual stuff: No toilets at start. Stops as needed. Planned rest stop at Sweet Gourmet in Montgomery.
Faster riders are welcome to come to the start, take the route, and go off the front. I intend to ride within the stated pace range. Nobody dropped.
Riders-in can meet us at Blackwells Mills/Six Mile Run lot about fifteen minutes after the scheduled ride start (or anywhere else along the route), but let me know in advance if you're gonna do that.
If you're planning to listen to music on this ride, use bone-conduction headphones. Earbuds, over-the-ear headphones, or music audible to other riders, are not permitted.
The Excellent Wife is comin'. I hope to see youse.
