A Relaxed 20-Mile History Tour

Join in on a scenic, low-pressure Sunday afternoon ride through local history. We’ll kick off on the D&R Canal in New Jersey, head across the Scudder Falls Bridge into Pennsylvania, and pick up the D&L Canal towpath.

The Route Highlights
The Graves of Washington’s Soldiers: Our primary destination and a quiet spot for reflection.

The Crossing Point: On our return leg, we’ll stop at the historic site where Washington and his troops departed the Pennsylvania shore for their famous Christmas night crossing in 1776.

Ride Details
Pace: D+ Category (9.0 – 10.9 mph). This is all about enjoying the ride and the company—no one gets left behind!

Terrain: Primarily crushed stone and cinder paths.

Equipment: Road bikes are fine. Gravel bikes are better. While 28mm tires will do the job, you’ll likely find wider tires much more comfortable on this surface.
